I’m thrilled to welcome you to the new Citymeals blog – Food for Thought.
Last November we launched our new website. More than ever before, you can now go into the homes of our meal recipients and into the kitchens of our culinary friends. The expanded content includes:
What We Deliver – a closer look at our meal deliveries, volunteer programs and special aging initiatives
A History Timeline – key moments which have shaped our path to providing more than 54 million meals since 1981
Our Meal Recipients – feature stories and videos spotlighting the people we serve
Volunteer With Us – details on the many opportunities available and a new online application form
Events and Partnerships – learn more about our wide variety of events and the ways you can partner with us throughout the year
Ending Elder Hunger – facts and figures about the threat hunger poses to our growing senior population
In the Kitchen – a celebration of our longtime support from the city’s chef and restaurant community with recipes and information on how to help your homebound elderly neighbors when you dine out
And I – alongside other voices from our Citymeals family – will be checking in on a regular basis through this blog. Come back for news and behind-the-scenes scoop as we continue to update you on our efforts to serve good daily across the five boroughs.
