Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship for nearly 22,000 homebound elderly New Yorkers, helping them live with dignity in their own homes and communities. Since 1981, Citymeals has delivered nearly 70 million meals to our older neighbors in need. 

Citymeals on Wheels is currently seeking a detailed oriented Associate, Events & Partnerships who will support a team who executes fundraising events and partnerships that contributes to over $4.3 million in annual revenue for the organization. The Events & Partnerships team produces four major annual fundraising events and two-four additional smaller events and collaborations per year. They also run several fundraising partner campaigns.

The Associate can expect to be involved in strategic discussions, brainstorming, and planning but will also need to manage basic administrative projects independently and alongside the full team.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about Citymeals’ mission and can expect to be involved in various aspects of the organization (i.e., attending meal deliveries, visiting the Distribution Center in the Bronx).

This position reports directly to the Senior Associate. 

Citymeals is working on a hybrid schedule, located in Midtown Manhattan. Days may vary due to business needs. Weekend and evening hours are required for events.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with full team in soliciting high-profile chef support, sponsors and prospective corporate, food and beverage industry donors for financial support and in-kind donations
  • Responsible for all administrative duties consistent with event planning e.g., organizing event lists, following up with donors and auction winners and tracking ticket purchases
  • Responsible for day-of event logistics to include check-in, set up and break down
  • Assist in event auction builds and work within digital bidding platform
  • Support peer-to-peer fundraising efforts of the Citymeals marathon team
  • Work collaboratively on marketing materials and communication projects related to special events
  • Track sponsor and donor deliverables
  • Generate tax acknowledgement letters

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience and minimum 3 years’ experience in event planning, client relations, fundraising, onsite production and on-site execution
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills. Comfort and experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders e.g. high-level donors, chefs, event co-chairs, honorees, emcees and the Board of Directors
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce or similar CRM a plus
  • Energetic self-starter with experience coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects within a deadline-driven environment

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus based on organizational and individual success.
