In 1986, Citymeals Founder Gael Greene and then-Board Member Joan Weill conceived the Power Lunch for Women — our biggest fundraising event of the year — as a spoof on the concept of the men's power breakfast.
Decades later, we're still bringing together friends — old and new — to join us in the fight to end elder hunger. Over the years, Power Lunch has raised more than $31 million in support of Citymeals' mission.
On November 15th, 2023, philanthropic New Yorkers across all industries will come together at The Plaza for the 36th Annual Power Lunch. This year’s honorees are Barbara Tober, Joe Holder and corporate partner Standard Industries. Tickets are available now.
Check out highlights from Power Lunch over the years:
Last year's event raised enough to prepare and deliver over 450,000 meals to older New Yorkers in need. Read the press release and check out press coverage and event photos.
100% of your donation will be used for the preparation and delivery of meals, thanks to our partnership with the New York City Department for the Aging, along with gifts from our board of directors and others designated for administrative expenses.
