Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and connection for homebound older New Yorkers. Since our founding, we have delivered 70 million meals. Together, we are working to end elder hunger in New York City by 2040. Citymeals is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manager, Events & Partnerships, who will support a team that contributes over $4.6 million in annual revenue to the organization. The Events & Partnerships department produces four signature events and several fundraising partner campaigns annually.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about Citymeals’ mission and can expect to be involved in various aspects of the organization (i.e., attending meal deliveries, visiting the Distribution Center in The Bronx).

This position reports directly to the Director, Events & Partnerships, and will supervise the Department Associate(s).

Citymeals operates on a hybrid schedule at our office in Midtown Manhattan. Days may vary due to business needs. Weekends and evenings required surrounding events.


Responsibilities:

  • Support Director with all phases of event execution, including venue research, vendor contracting, budget tracking, production coordination and event management.
  • Lead fundraising and production aspects of annual signature events
  • Engage and steward corporate partners and event sponsors
  • Work with the full team to solicit high-profile chefs, prospective corporate partners, food & beverage industry donors for financial support and pro-bono donations
  • Leverage existing professional relationships for effective solicitation of new partners, corporate event sponsors and campaign participants.
  • Identify and implement new fundraising opportunities while shepherding longtime Citymeals partners
  • Communicate with high-level donors, event co-chairs, honorees, sponsors and other VIPs regularly.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Corporate Partnerships, Major Gifts, Volunteer and Programs departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience and minimum 5 years’ experience in event production and fundraising at nonprofit organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and timelines. Comfortable with managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory skills.
  • Fluency in working with Microsoft Office as well as databases and project management software, preferably Raisers Edge NXT and Monday.com.
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to set priorities and multitask.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends surrounding special event dates.

  • The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus based on organizational and individual success.
