Who Can Volunteer

Each year, Citymeals works with thousands of kindhearted people of all ages who make an impact on the lives of their frail aged neighbors. In 2016, they dedicated 71,521 hours of volunteer service. Learn more about who volunteers – and how you can get involved.

Individuals

Individual volunteers help us ensure our meal recipients never go a day without nourishing meals and vital companionship. Opportunities include meal deliveries, Friendly Visiting, handmade cards, Senior Chat, Senior Script, kitchen help and office help.

Corporate groups

From small outings to company-wide days of giving, we plan a range of corporate volunteer activities. Opportunities include meal deliveries and handmade cards.

Community groups

Citymeals works with a variety of community groups in New York City that wish to participate in volunteer projects. Opportunities include meal deliveries and handmade cards.

schools

Volunteer outings are a great way for teachers to show their young students the importance of giving back. Opportunities include meal deliveries and handmade cards.

students

Whether attending high school or college, students of all ages are welcome to volunteer with Citymeals. Opportunities include meal deliveries, handmade cards and kitchen help.

young professionals

Citymeals Young Professionals deliver meals to isolated older New Yorkers every other Saturday of each month.
