Citymeals on Wheels is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of Manager, Digital Fundraising (Direct Response Marketing). Reporting to the Director of Direct Response Marketing, the Manager is responsible for the digital fundraising channel as part of a strong, multi-channel direct response marketing program, which contributes to nearly $8 million in annual revenue for the organization. Key duties include digital fundraising campaign management, paid media management, and analysis.

This role is crucial to the smooth and efficient operation of an evolving, robust digital fundraising program. Ideal candidates will have 5 years’ experience in direct response marketing within a non-profit organization or digital agency, with proven expertise in digital fundraising.

A key factor for success in this role is a strong knowledge of digital fundraising best practices, as well as a familiarity with digital marketing tools, technology, and analytics. This is not a social media or content role.

Citymeals is working on a hybrid schedule. This position will require two days a week at our office in Midtown Manhattan. Days may vary due to business needs.


  • In partnership with Director, lead overall strategy and execution of digital fundraising campaigns which include email marketing, SEM, web assets, donation forms, and paid media.
  • Working collaboratively with digital agency partner to develop and execute strong, compelling campaign strategies and testing plans; Analyze results to increase actions and revenue.
  • Develop and implement new strategies for expanding an already robust monthly giving program.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on messaging and campaign themes; manage copy/art routing and secure feedback and approvals.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Comms team to ensure campaigns align across paid and organic channels.
  • Manage expense budgets and track vendor contracts.
  • Special projects as assigned to enhance and expand direct marketing’s fundraising capacity and increase efficiencies within the department.


  • Five years of professional digital fundraising/marketing experience in a nonprofit or direct marketing agency setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Proven expertise of digital fundraising methodologies, techniques and trends.
  • Capacity to think critically, assess and synthesize data; proficiency in Google Analytics/G4 a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Knowledge of mid-level giving programs a plus.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail; excellent time management skills, with proven ability to set priorities and multi-task.
  • Experience managing agency partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM/database platform.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work independently, as needed.
  • Self-starter and creative problem solver with a positive approach and good sense of humor.
