For years, New York City’s young professional community has supported our fight against elder hunger. Today, these dynamic young professionals work to raise both awareness and funds for Citymeals.
Citymeals Young Professionals, who come from a range of industries, regularly volunteer for Saturday meal deliveries throughout the year. These outings provide not only the opportunity to network with peers, but also a deeper understanding of how a simple home-delivered meal can impact the lives of their frail aged neighbors.
Fun-filled events, from happy hours to nights at the ballpark, allow the Young Professionals to put their generosity into action by raising the money necessary to prepare and deliver meals.
In 2013, the Citymeals Young Professionals Committee was established to provide a framework through which our young professionals could focus their efforts. Byron Athans and Steven Soutendijk currently serve as the committee’s co-chairs.
