AN INTIMATE SUNDAY DINNER WITH DANIEL On March 18, 2007, Chef Daniel Boulud continued his tradition of supporting Citymeals-on-Wheels with a sumptuous gala dinner in their honor. This year marked a particularly special milestone celebrating two important silver anniversaries: Citymeals-on-Wheels' first 25 years of service, with 34 million meals delivered to elderly New Yorkers, and Chef Daniel Boulud's first 25 years of cooking in America. The festivities, featuring world class wine, provided all the delicious glamour the annual event has become known for. The evening began with a reception featuring hors d'oeuvre by five of New York's top chefs representing the delectable cuisines of Asia and India, and culminated in an auction of priceless offerings from the ultimate in luxury dining, wines and travel. 100% of gala ticket sales and auction proceeds benefited Citymeals-on-Wheels. With the dinner and auction totaling more than $800,000, Chef Daniel was able to once again meet his million dollar resolution (together with the La Paulee auction of March 3rd), which translates to more than 200,000 meals for our city's invisible neighbors.
