West Point Cadets

On Saturday, February 11, 2006 a group of 65 uniformed U.S. Army West Point Cadets joined Citymeals-on-Wheels and the Community Lounge Senior Center to deliver President’s Day boxes to our homebound elderly of the Murray Hill and Stuyvesant town areas. The group arrived at 8:30 am to begin their tour of duty. These packages provided extra holiday meals for the seniors as their meal centers were closed for the President’s Day holiday. A terrific day was had by all. The cadets were so moved by their volunteers experience that they promised to return next year and make this an annual event.
