Disney VoluntEARS

The Disney VoluntEARS Citymeals-on-Wheels Team is a dedicated and enthusiastic group that began volunteering in 1998. They have delivered thousands of meals to the frail aged in the city’s Yorkville neighborhood. In 2008, the Team was named the New York Disney VoluntEAR Team of the Year – a recognition award from The Walt Disney Company.

More recently, as new members continue to join, the group has expanded their delivery area further uptown. Disney VoluntEARS now also hit the streets delivering meals in East Harlem. Last year, the Disney VoluntEARS helped at a special holiday event at Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Elderly from the community gathered to celebrate Christmas. The Disney VoluntEARS also donated Holiday Care Stockings for the older people at the luncheon. The Disney VoluntEARS Citymeals Team is poised to continue on its path as those involved “Make A Wave” and a difference for the homebound elderly in New York City.
