The Kiwanis Club

April 2006 - We are the NYC Kiwanis Club of Young Professionals. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers. Our club chartered in 2001, and we have been volunteering with Citymeals-on-Wheels since 2003.

Citymeals-on-Wheels has been one of our favorite organizations for so many reasons. First of all, they are easy and organzied, which can be rare in a New York non-profit. The meal delivery project allows us to spend some time getting to know the homebound seniors we deliver to, in addition to getting to know each other better. At the end of our deliveries, there is a real sense of accomplishment, like we made a little bit of a difference. It’s also just nice to get out and walk around New York.

So thanks to Citymeals-on-Wheels, and we look forward to many more years in partnership as volunteers.
