“I volunteer with Citymeals-on-Wheels  because out of all of the other volunteer programs I considered joining, this one really allowed me to see the difference I  could make to someone’s life instantaneously.

I would ring doorbells, walk up 5-7 flights of stairs if an elevator was out, and seniors would be so appreciative that it would be worth it just to walk up those stairs again, carrying a hot, nutritious meal in one hand a cold pack in the other. I was  going to school and working full time pursuing my B.B.S. in International Business at Berkeley College and my Masters of Public Administration, Inspector General  at John Jay college of Criminal Justice.  I have been volunteering with Citymeals-on-Wheels for over 7 years on weekends at the Encore Community Center near Times Square. I also volunteer during  Thanksgiving weekend, making sure the homebound elderly have a fantastic Thanksgiving Day.”
