Citymeals-on-Wheels proudly delivers meals to nearly 18,000 homebound elderly New Yorkers everyday. But that’s not all we deliver. We also provide human contact, conversations, and a connection to the outside world that many of our aged neighbors would lack without our daily visits.
Please help us by donating now. Your contribution of as little as $25 will help ensure that our neighbors receive a nutritious meal and a cheerful smile every day throughout this holiday season.
100% of every donation goes directly to feeding homebound elderly New Yorkers – not one penny of your gift will be used for administrative costs.
Gael Greene and James Beard founded Citymeals-on-Wheels in 1981 by raising private funds to supplement the government-funded weekday meal delivery program. Citymeals now funds 102 community-based agencies that bring weekend, holiday, emergency and weekday meals to homebound elderly New Yorkers who can no longer shop or cook for themselves.
Last year, Citymeals funded the preparation and delivery of over 2.5 million meals to more than 17,500 homebound elderly New Yorkers.
