Student-Designed Cards

Citymeals-on-Wheels means more than just food to our elderly. For many meal recipients, the meal deliverer is the only other person they see all day. Their meal deliverer often becomes their link to the outside world, and each delivery reminds them that they are not forgotten. Citymeals sends special treats and messages along with our meals and food packages whenever possible. Every year, Citymeals works with the New York City Department of Education to bring each of our meal recipients a one-of-a-kind holiday card. Holiday cards hand-decorated by school children are another way we show that someone cares.

Birthday Cards for the Homebound

Citymeals continuously looks for unique ways to brighten the lives of our meal recipients. Every year, New York City students create birthday cards for their homebound, elderly neighbors. Those we serve are often alone, without family or friends. These cards remind them someone cares and recognizes their special day.
