16th Annual Media Battle of the Bands

Battle of the BandsFebruary 11, 2009
6:00-Midnight
B.B. King Blues Club & Grill
237 West 42nd Street, NYC

It’s a battle worth fighting! The 16th Annual Media Battle of the Bands benefiting Citymeals-on-Wheels was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill.

Top media and cable executives rocked and rolled, banding together for a raucous evening of music and mingling – a chance to network with colleagues and competitors while helping New York’s homebound elderly.  Network and ad agency executives left their suits and ties at the office to come amp it up at this fabled New York club with a lineup of rock, blues and pop music.

Over the years, the Battle of the Bands has become one of the most popular events of the year for the media and television industries. In 1993, its first year, the Battle of the Bands raised $44,000…since then, the event has raised over $3 million to feed New York’s homebound elderly.  This year’s battle brought in over $219,000 - thanks to the generous support of dozens of cable networks and major advertising and media agencies.
