Winter Weather Warriors
As the city prepared for the first blizzard of 2010, Citymeals-on-Wheels ensured no homebound elderly New Yorker would be without proper nourishment. Many of Citymeals’ meal recipients struggle to leave their home each day; the added difficulty of ice and snow often proves too dangerous for many. Thanks to the dedication of Citymeals staff and volunteers, frail aged older people in need received meals and had emergency food packages on hand.
Special Delivery
In the midst of the harsh winter season, February can feel like the longest month of the year. Chase away the chill and warm your heart this Valentine’s Day with a Special Delivery from Etsy. Create and decorate cards to be hand-delivered on February 14 with food served by Citymeals to New York’s homebound elderly. Etsy’s second annual Special Delivery project promises to help bring companionship and holiday cheer to our frail aged neighbors and you can be a part of the movement.
