Annual report & financial information
Thirty-one years ago, when serving our first meals to 6,000 frail aged on Christmas Day 1981, we could not have imagined preparing and delivering nearly 2 million meals to 17,000 homebound elderly New Yorkers as we did this year.
100% of all contributions to Citymeals-on-Wheels from the general public are used exclusively for preparation and delivery of meals. Not a penny is used for administrative costs.
The first graph below represents how general donations ("restricted funds") were used in FY12. The second graph shows the trend in number of meals funded. Click on graphs to view larger image.
All funds needed to cover administrative and fundraising expenses are raised separately and specifically for these purposes. The major sources of administrative funds are grants from foundations, corporate sponsors, the City of New York, and board members of Citymeals-on-Wheels.
